"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
~Martin Luther King Jr.

Excerpt from blog:

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr and his advocacy for equality, I wrote this poem. I hope you all enjoy it.

Were we born to be enemies?
Was I conceived
While thoughts of hatred ran rampant
Somewhere deep within my parents hearts?
Is this life I live
Meant to tear you down
From the outside, in?
With words of hate and words
Filled with venom?
As you return each slap
With a punch.
