Gravitation? Hmm, How Nostalgic...

I started out my adventures in the world of hentai with yaoi, so it has kind of nostalgic value to me. Even though I have only read/watched a few original yaoi series (OMG Gravitation! It's been so long... I loved Yuki's little brother, can't remember his name though) I specialize in yaoi fanfiction and doujinshi.

Except for Gravitaion which was the first yaoi I ever read, I recall reading Fake, Junjou Romantica, Loveless (it's shounen-ai, actually) and watching Ai no Kusabi and Yami no Matsuei. There is a few more I think, but it pales to the great amounts of fanfiction I have read, mostly from Bleach and Naruto.

I like it how there is actually a plot in most of the yaoi series, and they are pretty funny as well. They are well directed to their main audience (fangirls) with a nice balance of action, semi perverted or perverted jokes and cutesy that just makes girls go 'Kyaa!'

I have made a few friends by reading yaoi as well. Where I live the fangirls seem to be a pretty tight knit group. You just have to go to the local manga store, take a yaoi manga in your hands and in few minutes some random girl come up and says "oh, you like yaoi too! Lets hug and be friends!" No joke. That has happened to me.

Yes, being a yaoi fangirl is one of the most entertaining hobbies a girl can get. Those who haven't ever read yaoi are missing a great part of their... err... youthful enthusiasm?
