Am I Crazy!?

I'm a senior in high school and I've never actually fallen in love with someone and I've never had my heart broken. I dated somebody in the army for 6 months, which was hard especially because I did not love him the same way he said he loved me. That's a whole different story though.
About a month ago I met someone who gives me feelings I've never had before. I've spent almost every day with him since I met him, and everything about us feels so different than any of my other relationships. (In a good way) I don't know what it is, but even this soon, I don't want to lose him.
HE'S LEAVING FOR BASIC TRAINING MARCH 19TH. I started dating my ex when he was in AIT, I have a little experience with being an army girlfriend, so the only thing new to me is not being able to talk to him during basic. I told him I would wait for him because I absolutely want to be with him.
He comes back at the end of July for 2 weeks, and then I leave for basic August 13th to be a combat medic. Although, I'm Army reserve so I'm only going to be gone for 26 weeks then I'll be back for college.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is.. Am I crazy for agreeing to support him and wait for him even though it's only been a very short month? Especially where I am also leaving for a while... I just need someone to tell me it's going to be ok and I'm right, because people here at home don't seem to agree so much.. HELP!
