I Am a Young Mother

Young Mother!

Even though I am still 17 I really don't think of myself as a Teen Mom anymore because I'm really not a Teenager anymore and I haven't been for a long time. I'm soon to be 18 and my boyfriend is 18. We had our children at 16 and they are now 18 months old. We have our own place that we pay for and we both have our own cars that we pay for. I don't live a "Teenage" life anymore so I just don't see myself as a teen mom I see myself as a young mom. I know alot of people say that I am still technically a Teenager until I turn 20. But I have the life of a 25 year old and I love my life. : )

That's great that you focus so much on your children. :) Teen moms are often stereotyped to be lazy and irresponsible, but this story shows that that stereotype isn't true.

My babies are my motivation for everything I do. I could have dropped out of school and apply for gov. assistance. But they were motivation to graduate highschool (which I finished early) thanks to alot of hard work. And my Fiancé and I work to support our kids all by ourselves. I think we are doing a pretty good job! :)

I am older now but had my 1st when I was 16. You sound like you are doing well and looking at life in a positive way.....good for you. It is hard and not everything will be easy, but I always remember looking at my son and feeling so much love and thats all I needed for motivation.
