Approach the situation with genuine optimism. When my doctor first told me I was pregnant I started crying and she said the most comforting thing anyone said to me my whole pregnancy, your life isn't over your just pregnant! It's true everything that you have ever wanted to do is still possible, it's just going to be more difficult. Don't be afraid to tell your friends and family, you'll be genuinely surprised about how much support you will receive, I know I was. I just had my son 3 weeks ago and I think the best advice I could give anyone about to experience the long challenging haul of pregnancy would be to enjoy every minute of it. You don't realize it now, but these moments you're going to really miss once your little one gets here. You will never be so close to them as you are now while they are thriving inside of you. Also, try not to listen to other mothers and their birthing experiences. I was really hyped up about my scheduled induction because of all the horror stories I had been told and I had just about the easiest most painless birth one could have! Just make sure to get that epidural girl ... :). Best wishes and Congratulations!

Thank you so much for the advice! :) I am really optimistic and I have always wanted children so it is not as much as a shock as to some people. But I am still blown away many days knowing it is my job to be strong and smart and responsible for some one else and not just myself for the first time in my life. It knocks me on my ***, but picks me up at the same time. What you said about my life not being over is true. Until your comment I had not been thinking seriously about being able to return to college after having a baby, but now you have made me realize that this bundle of unconditional love in my life is not a reason to give up, but a reason to fight harder. I am going to succeed and be a good role model for my children! :) Thanks girl!

This was 100% true. My baby girl is now 5 weeks old. I agree being pregnant was an amazing bonding experience and I miss it from time to time. I am glad I gave in and got the epidurral, it allowed me to really enjoy seeing her birth and do it in comfort not severe pain. I got induced and it helped the process so much, I was also lucky to have an easy labour, I also let people scare me too much before that. Thank you for the advice and support, I hope you and your little one are doing good! :)

Telling your family/friends can be so hard. Especially if you have judgmental family and friends like I do. Just be honest with them. They may be mad or upset at first, but once they get used to the idea I bet they'll be really excited for you! Congratulations btw! :)
