I Am A Startup Ceo And Founder. Ask Me Anything.

A personal story in the experience: I Am a ___. Ask me Anything.
I started Experience Project. This has been the most amazing experience of my life, mostly because I've gotten to use my time building something that has tangibly touched so many lives.

Ask me anything!

I've been working on EP for over 4 years. Before it, I built out its predecessor site called This is MS, which was a multiple sclerosis support forum (I had a close friend who is an MS'er and wanted to help.)

It's there I saw the power of connecting people on *all* their experiences-- good, bad, fun, and serious, and how we could use technology to connect people who can make each other's lives a better place. Think how many amazing conversations/friends we miss out on because we don't know who to talk to, or what to ask, or that the person we talk to everyday actually shares our same experiences.

Thanks for the kind words, hope this helps answer your question!

When we're kids we never hope that when we grow up we'll be CEO's, so i want to ask how did you get into this line of work ?

I got into it by 'accident'-- I certainly never schemed to run a company. I had a passion, and I had the opportunity to follow it, for which I'm eternally grateful. As I'm always shorthanded, there's things that need to be done, and someone has to do them, preferably someone that REALLY CARES.

Being a CEO sounds more glamorous than it really is, and maybe it is glamorous when you have expense accounts and helicopters and fly first class etc when you run a gigantic company--but for a small company fighting each day to build a great product, it's mostly an operations-oriented role (read: paperwork!)

Wow. I feel like I've just met Santa Claus or something, hahaha! Nice to see you out and about. Socializing with the masses or whatever ;-)

I guess I should add my thanks to those above me. This site has really touched my life. I have made amazing friends here, and found commonality when I never dreamed it existed. In browsing the stories and experience groups, I have learned about myself.

Whatever helped you make the leap from MS to everyone else, I'm grateful :-)
