I actully go to a jewish school . ( a reformed jewish school , very hippie , our rabbi is a girl)
and in jewish studies a friend brought this up. Shes from Israel and the ultra orthadox used to throw rocks and people who drove there cars on shabbat. This is simply because
a) you are either doing something that is disrespectts them.
or
b) Jews are so used to being discrimated againts and being made fun off that it isnt uncommon for them to think that you are being silly and mocking them.

Us jews are quite stubborn , but we do mean well.
Next time , try say something like " shalom" ( hello in hebrew)
or on fridays " good shabbos"
ggive it ago and good luck.
just keep in mind that they most likey dont mean to be rude but rather think that your being rude to them. haha.

What a noble thing to do to try and answer all thes questions. Good on you.

I think much of the Anti semetism/Racism etc is caused by lack of understanding of the various races and faiths.

I will admit to finding the more extreme parts of religions to be upsetting.

I do not understand why the Extremist Jews we have in North London here in the UK just seem to pretend that i do not exsist.

I tried to say "Good morning" etc to all but do find I get rebuffed and ignored by the more extreme members of the Jewish faith?

I just want to be friendly?

Help.

Is there any atheist Jews or do all of them follow Judiasm? Sorry for my ignorance

The little Jewish hats are called "kippahs"
they are meant to be worn all the time , but it depends on the intesitiy of how religious you are. Some people tend to only wear them when praying or going into a shule ( our place of worship)

Also they are commonly only worn my males , but some females do choose to wear them.

thanks =]

Everybody should take care of their bodies !
but theres no rule agiants smoking , or drinking or anything of the sort.
There is a religious law about tatoos though , although not all people listen to this. Such as me , i have three tats. But it really depends on the level on their Judiasim.

And our "jesus" is actully called Hashem. In biblical stories is goes that Jesus was son of Hashem. We normally just call him god - " lets pray to god" but Hashem is the proper respectful name.

Thanks for the Quetsions :)

What's with the little round hats? I see some people wear them and some don't. Is it for a specific type of Judaism.. or is it just a fashion this so other Jewish people recognize each other?
