I also hear the roaring of the ocean 24/7 and have been using a white noise machine to sleep with for 5+ years and it really seems to help.

It is Hard dear. Unfortunately for many people it never goes away. We do learn how to live with it. There are many people who have found things that have helped I encourage you to look through the stories in this group to see if you find anything that helps you.
Don't feel like a failure if things you try do not work for you. Everyone is different what might work for 10 people may not work on the 11th. Go ahead and try though, you may be the one it works for.
Good luck

I lost my job and I am the sole provider with seven kids falling off of the fiscal cliff, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you because I wouldn't wish this on anyone. My pain and vertigo with vomiting is bad, but the hearing loss is like my best friend died. I didn't hear my boss tell me we had to meet at 130pm, so I apparently stood her up, and the resident care manager said I had an attitude with bad facial expression. I was trying really hard to hear people, not used to being hearing impaired. I had mastoiditis and this whole inner ear vestibular nightmare. The hard part was discovering my own deafness while I was trying to listen to a patient's heartbeat with my stethoscope. Being a nurse with this problem is no good joke. The ENT specialist is trying steroids after I had to take a whole lotta antibiotics. He says they will do another hearing test to determine my hearing aid, but if my mastoiditis comes back to call right away and he will see me. He told me to cut sodium in my diet, which won't be hard for me. He diagnosed me with Meniere's Disease this morning.

I had the ringing in my ears for many years until I got hearing aids. My Meniere's has been with me for over 25 years. Keep fighting.

I would like to share what I found works for me to keep the Menieres symptoms away -
About a year ago I had my first attack of Meniers - the vertigo, nausea couldn't get up to walk ... not nice at all!
Went to the doctor and they gave me cortizone and stugeron it helped to get the worst of the symptoms under control, but one couldn't take it regularly.

After about a year now without symptoms I just want to share what I found helped me, with anyone else that suffers from the same problem.

I take on a daily basis the following in the morning:
1 x Vitathion (fizzy version)
1 x Vitamin C 250 mg buffered
1 x Vitamin B complex tablet
1 x Solgar Lipotropic factors tablet
1 x Solgar Glycine 500 mg tablet
1 x Legalon 70 tablet

It is now almost a year since I last had the terrible symptoms. If I skip the regimen for a few days then I can feel it is not good and as soon as start taking it again it all goes well again.
It is not a cure but it manages my Menieres wonderfully !
Regards and I hope this helps someone else as well
