Hi, right after I got saved I was watching some movies where they were blaspheming a lot. I knew I should have stopped watching, but I really like the movie so I ignored the blasphemy. It soon got so bad that I turned the TV off. The damage was done however. I was then launched into a long period of terrible non stop blasphemous and VERY wicked thoughts that I hated. Also while reading the Bible, very perverse thoughts would come into my mind, that I did not want to think. I felt terrible about this, and struggled with it for months. Then, I was listening to Christian show online, and the guy started talking about how to combat lustful thoughts. He said instead of trying not to think them, we have to think on Christ instead. I applied this to the blasphemy problem, and they stopped! Every time they came, I just rehearsed a verse about the wonderful glories of Christ. I chose to think on Christ instead. Even if you have to say the verse out loud, do it, it might help. I hope this works for you as it did for me.

Also, just apologize to the Lord about it. I know I sinned because I was watching a movie that did that to His Name, so I stopped watching such things. Also, I knew that with all my heart I did not want to think such wicked things, so I figured He would forgive me, as He promised to in the Bible. Also, this is not the same as blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

I know you might not believe me, but I've looked into this for a long time, and actually learned that even Charles Spurgeon dealt with this issue as a young Christian. Also another great preacher went through the same thing, so I'm thinking it is an attack that might be common. But I could be wrong.
Either way though, I figured if Charles Spurgeon went through it and overcame and was used by the Lord so mightily, then so can me and you.

I no longer deal with this problem. And was really helped by Paul's statement "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I WAS SHOWN MERCY SO THAT IN ME, THE WORST OF SINNERS, CHRIST JESUS MIGHT DISPLAY HIS IMMENSE PATIENCE AS AN EXAMPLE FOR THOSE WHO WOULD BELIEVE IN HIM AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE." 1 Timothy 15-16

Although it is hard to see Paul as the worst of sinners (because I think I'm the worst) I know the Bible NEVER lies or exaggerates. So if the Holy Spirit had him write that then you can definitely be sure that Christ is patient with you and will forgive and help you.

I hope this helped! Good luck!

Also, I found this book by John Bunyan very helpful. It is called Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners. And John Bunyan tells of his conversion, and the trials and temptations that happened to him afterwards. He also believed for a long time that he had committed an unpardonable sin against the Lord.

    Dear Wicked,

(please don't call your self such awful names. The "C" word is one of the worst)

You have NOT yet lost your salvation. You ARE in danger of it, though. Sounds like you're under a serious spiritual attack. I suggest, in the Name of Jesus, by His Blood, and with the Authority He gives you, you BIND the evil spirit(s) attacking you.

Know how I know you have NOT lost your salvation? BECAUSE YOU CARE ABOUT IT.

The main hallmark of someone who's blasphemed the Holy Spirit is: they don't care one whit about it. In fact, they think the whole idea of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Heaven, etc. is complete silliness if not outright b.s. That is, they have a completely hardened heart and seared conscience.

Since that is patently NOT your attitude or situation -- you have enough conscience and faith to still care about the state of your soul -- I'd say you're still saved. BUT -- if you don't start fighting the oppressing, evil spirit luring you into your blasphemous thoughts and behaviors, that spirit WILL eventually lure you into hardening your heart and searing your conscience. And you'll stop caring about whether you're saved or not.

So start fighting and binding that spirit, NOW. Remember, we're all called to spiritual warfare. Guess that's literal, huh? Who knew! (LOL)

I'll keep you in my prayers! God bless.

"Know how I know you have NOT lost your salvation? BECAUSE YOU CARE ABOUT IT." You had better watch yourself. You cannot know whether someone else has lost their salvation or not. That is between them and God. Also, do not ASSume that every reprobate is without remorse. I understand that you want to help this person but be careful with your generalizations. I am a true cast off and yet I still care very much that I can no longer contact Jesus. You "Christians" need to understand that sometimes, God in His Righteousness makes decisions about individuals that you don't like and don't understand, but that is His right. Having said that, I truly hope this individual who wrote this is not beyond hope because to exist as a true reject knowing that you're doom cannot be avoided is truly terrifying.

Maybe you missed the part where I typed "I truly hope this individual who wrote this is not beyond hope". My message was positive and not negative. Acknowledging that some are rejects does not take away from the fact that God is very forgiving and that this individual MAY STILL HAVE HOPE! Stop trying to put me in a bad light, Bash. I never expected that kind of stuff from you.
