Terrified

As a kid I slept with the lights on. My parents would yell at me for it. So then I started sleeping in the living room with the tv on. They didnt like that either. I had multiple night lights my senior year and the hall light on. My husband is understanding, sometimes he teases me about it but I can't be in a dark place without him. He leaves the tv on for me and when I fall asleep he turns it off and holds me. I wake him up if I happen to wake up in the dark, he comforts me until I can sleep again.
