Goolsbee, doesn't want to lose his tenure, but I bet the captain doesn't want to go down with the ship either.

There is no stopping what is coming because Americans today think the government should support them through taxation of the wealthy but the day is just around the corner when there won't be enough wealthy people left to support the lazy people in this country, that being said our elected officials will just continue to borrow from other countries to keep this support system going instead of telling them that they will have to fend for themselves.....why you may ask.....because those lazy people vote and those politicians want to keep their jobs, but one day those jobs will no longer exist because America will no longer exist. I don't know who will be in control but it won't be the American people, my guess would be China but i could be wrong it could end up being someone else but they are the most likely candidate

Puck, well said and I like the way you expressed something I have noticed since childhood. Which also says that one does not have to be a 'grown up' to see the simple facts as they are. We instituted the Marshall Plan to help rebuild a war-devastated Europe for example. But now when we really could use help....Well, looks like we're not going to get any and we'll have to do it by ourselves like we usually do. Make no mistake, some countries enjoy what they're seeing happen to us. But if our economy collapses, theirs is likely to sink as well. I see you have a passion for this issue and glad to see this does something for you. We need all the ideas we can get. And you know what? There are plenty of good ideas to go around.

Btw, did you hear economic adviser Austan Goolsbee (Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers), said he’ll quit after just ten months in office? Wow, that was fast!

The scorn for Israel is as flabbergasting to me, as my support for Israel is flabbergasting to you. I despise the Palestinian ideology. It is a violent, bloodthirsty, corrupt, deceitful poison to the world, Arabs live in peace and freedom within Israel, while the Palestinians celebrate their spiteful hatred for the Jews.
After 9-11, Israel said, "We are all Americans Now" while the Palestinians danced in the streets and fired their guns in the air.

Everybody want's to survive, but no one want's to tighten their belt.

It really ****** me off that we are the laughing stock of the world. At one time or another we have come to the rescue of just about every major country on earth, and a whole slew of minor ones. We have given money and lives for the good of this world, and we have welcomed every nation to our country. Yet we are so evil and so stupid in the eyes of most of the world.

Back to the economy- We are going the way of Greece, Ireland, and Portugal. Unions and a government that borrowed from the money we paid into social security and defaulted on the loan, are partly to blame. Over extending ourselves, and living beyond our means, and making it possible for people to buy houses when they can't afford them, hand outs, and bail outs, and corporate welfare, and futile stimulus packages, and borrowing, and printing money , and on, and on, and on. Pardon my grammar. Now they're crying "raise the debt ceiling". It's time to start eating beans and rice, and staying home.

As for the countries that mock us, they can take an aerial intercourse in a rotating pastry.

This is so spot on about the middle east. The Arab Spring is not the labor pains for the birth of freedom and democracy, it is the beginning of a new and worse nightmare than we've seen thus far.
