My fear of thunder comes from a childhood of being screamed and yelled at. Many of my recurring nightmares have to do with faceless people screaming about 2 inches from my face, not being able to move, wetting myself and crying. When I hear loud thunderous BOOMS, it all comes flooding back to me. I have a low tolerance for noise. Everyone I know says "stop being a baby- you are a grown woman... have a fear of something real". I'm sorry, I can't do that. These loud noises are very real to me. Am I neurotic, or does anyone out there understand ??
