The world recently lost two amazing and phenomenal women: the Poet Laureate Maya Angelou (1928-2014) and the renown actress and civil rights activist Ruby Dee (1922-2014, widow of the late actor and civil rights activist Ossie Davis, 1917-2005)
Both women believed one person CAN make a difference. And each of them left their world a better place than they found it. They are deeply revered and will be sorely missed. We won't see their like again.

Rest well.

Sad to hear about their loss .Yes,one person can make a tremendous lot of difference to this world,it is not quantity but quality. And their legacy will endure.

Both of these women were "once in a lifetime." Don't worry, we'll never see anyone like them again.

Yes, both were remarkable women. I was moved every time I heard Maya Angelou speak and I think she had that effect on a lot of us, regardless of our background. Ruby Dee's passing seemed to attract less notice, but she was also a very accomplished person who contributed a lot to the world. Both she and Ms. Angelou will indeed be sorely missed.

When I think of these phenomenal women, I think of my grandmother's. They were, now and forever, very important parts of our lives. Without them, we wouldn't be who were are today. Merci beaucoup pour le merveilleux poste, mon cher ami. Et merci pour le partage de cette belle image de ces légendes.

May she rest in peace.

Your taking the time and making the effort to make homage to them is touching. And thank you for the reminder.💗
