So, what's with all this political correctness with white people lately. I mean, over the past few days I have had countless of white people tell me "You are American, not African American." Like wtf. Are you telling me that I can't reflect and appreciate my roots through what I label myself? Is calling myself "African-American"second rate to "American"? I can't say "Black Lives Matter", without them saying "All Lives Matter". Seriously, we as a race can't focus on losing countless of our black men, sons, daughters and women to violence, the justice system, and drugs without it being demoted to second rate or not as important as America as a whole?

By labeling myself as African American, I am expressing and embracing my roots, and my culture. For someone not of my race, not of my culture, to tell me that what I label myself is wrong because "I wasn't born in Africa", is quite frankly ignorant and is simply uncalled for.
