About 9 years ago zoloft was my salvation. If I hadn't tried zoloft, and experianced feeling normal again versus clinical depression, I don't know that I'd be here today.
From my perspective, an altered state of consciousness is a temporary, usually hallucinogen & deliberately induced state. For someone with a chemical imbalance, or clinical depression for any reason, antidepressants help bring about a state of normalcy.
Do you think diabetics should just control their diets and go without insulin?

Yes, isn't that precisely the point? And you can achieve an un-altered state of mind with them. Why suffer when help is available?
