I Am Agnostic

Why So Finite?

"Agnostic" has always been a bit of an undefined word for many. Some understand is as "confused" others see it as "undecided". If anything, i think the only thing that is confused is the meaning of the word for themselves. I for one am Agnostic as far as i understand the term, and i am neither confused nor undecided. Why so many people seem to believe that a finite definition is acceptable for an infinite universe is something that does confuse me. I am certainly not religious to the extent of ritualistic worship of any named Deity, but neither am I so self-important to believe that we have the capacity to understand enough to insist that we are the know all and end all to anything "supernatural". While I believe unwaveringly in the truth of proven Science, i also believe that "truth" is not always finite, as it is subject to perception. I feel no pressure to chain myself to any conscription based on the idea that humans know more than we really do.

Well I am Agnostic. You explained the way you think very clearly. I think somewhat same like abve, I have seen so many wrong things are being done in the name of religion, and I have seen violence by not believing. Where as I am trying to understand continouisly the each and evry meaning in my own rational way, trying to reach to a explanation. I do wish I get lighten up some time. Nice Post TY

Confused? Have astrong dose of Stephen Hawkins.He is agnostic, Thus does not believe in god And he is a scientist , Thus has reasons for not believing. Follow his theories and you will end up on the brighter side for sure.

I think there are a lot of people who feel this way, but can't say it this well. I'm torn between "the end is the end" and the "but how can it be" sides. I don't know if I feel it or just wish there was something more.

Atheists are proud of what they know. Agnostics are humble enough to acknowledge they won't ever know enough.

Awesome perception! I do follow Christ but prefer the open mind of most agnostics. On this fourth of July I am so thankful I live in a country that gives me this choice.
