I Am Always Hungry
I'm very new here. I joined because my room mate said I needed to join this group! I'm not sure just what I should write here as two friends are looking over my shoulder, but I guess many people think the name of this group does fit me. I am a very athletic college girl with a very fast metabolism. I have had a fast metabolism my whole life, even before I started to take athletics seriously. There is a lot of hype about fast metabolisms and 50% of all movie stars claim to have one. I can tell you though that they do exist but it is rare and having one is not always fun. A fast metabolism just means that for some reason, in the same situation, your body burns more calories than most other people. In my case I eat 2 or 3 times what most of my friends do, 6000-8000 cals/day usually. It doesn't mean you won't get fat. My friend don't believe it, but I watch my weight too! I does mean that a standard meal at most restaurants won't fill me up or it will only hold me for a couple of hours. It does mean that sometimes people will think I am kind of a freak. To be sure, some boys think it is real sexy to see a girl eat a lot. That's OK sometimes but usually, if anything, I feel out of place. When eating with friends often every one will be full and I want to go for seconds. People ask, "are you still hungry?", "really?". It gets rather tiring. People who don't know me often ask thing like, "why do you eat so much?", "do you always eat like that?". I often eat breakfast at 6:00AM sharp before most people arrive. I have trained the servers to give me 2 omelettes and 1 of what ever else they have and everything usually goes smoothly. One day I was very hungry and went back and asked for 2 more omelettes, 2 pancakes, and sausages. He gave it to me but he quietly said, "I know you eat like this all the time. Don't take this the wrong way, but have you talk to a doctor about it?" I find this rather uncomfortable. Yes, by the way, I have - two of them. Anyway if you ever thought you wanted a fast metabolism just take my advice that it is not what it is often made out to be - and you can't turn it off when it's not convenient.
