I'm 1/4 Choctaw Indian. My mum is half and her mum was full. I'm proud of my heritage, it seems to be the only one I can take pride in. When someone asks me what my heritage is, I don't say Irish or French. I say "I'm Indian." Most people can guess it by my tan skin and high cheek bones, but others scoff and say 'why not just say you're white?' Because I find nothing they've done here to be honorable. I'm proud of my Indian heritage. Now I just have to walk my mum through getting our certification.
