    Excellent post!

Remember scripture says that those who seek the Lord with all their heart, mind, and soul, will find Him. And for those who don't seek the Lord, they will NOT find Him because He will not make Himself known to them.

This most certainly applies to all the commenters on your story. Quite interesting.

I really, really don't mean to be rude, but I don't quite understand what "proof of God" has to do with the "I Am American" group. Being either a Deist or an Atheist or anything in between doesn't make one more or less an American.

I suppose I feel that a group meant to exhibit national pride should not encourage posts that can alienate other members based on a different/lack of religious belief.

Nice, this is put together really well. Don't let the athiests derail you on your path to God. Athiest people make no sense anyways. They are stuck on their self righteous selves, and as far as athieism taking majority, get real that has been tried since the resurrection. 2000 yrs later and still no closer to the majority than what they were then, 50 more years is a drop in the hat. Let them go on about Christians and their belief in God...at least were not fighting against something that doesnt exist hence athiest twards the existance of God.. Everyone has the right to believe what they want, but if they want to bash, let them be bashed!

No its not up to me, perhaps you should re-read it. I said if they want to bash, then let them be bashed, which means if they keep their mouths shut, then nothing will be said. Im not okaying anything, i do believe everyone should be able to have their own beliefs, but people seem to expect a christian to just sit back and take it...not gonna happen.

Lol this is so damn ridiculous I didn't even bother reading. Science and god don't go in the same sentence, sweetheart. It's okay. The percentage of christians/catholics in this country is on a rapid decline and a majority of self proclaimed christians/catholics aren't good people. In about 50 years time, Atheism will rule over and we will become a much more advanced society. Look at how belief in God repressed science in the dark ages. Damn religion ruins everything.

DOn't worry, friend. Atheists look at religion and believe they're dealing with God. I too, have a lot to say about so-called christiand who really don't understand what is connected to the name they have perverted beyond belief. I'll clue you---church services denominations and the hypocrisy which is rife among so-called Christians---has nothing to do with the Faith. I,ve gone further than I usually go. I'll adress questions based on open minded interest--even curiosity. It's not for me to parade my Faith around(one of the hypocrisies I'm talking about) but quiet give and take by two open-minded people is another matter. Interested?

There are a lot of people who knock intelligent design because of evolution, but isn't amazing things can evolve? Matter has properties of interaction whose sources we have yet to discover, gravity being chief among them. There is something to be said for the ability of matter to evolve. If it were all random chance one could argue out of infinite universes ours could be the ONE that ranomly happened to work out half way descently, or since there are infinite possibilities in infinite universes there are an infinite number of universes teeming with life no matter the very small chance a universe like, or unlike ours, but still full of life, can randomly occur. Having only this universe as a reference i have to acknowledge how amazing the atom is, how it interacts with other atoms. There are also components to atoms, what are they made of? Some say they are particles, some say waves, or a combination of both. Others theorize magnetic disturbances are the sources of the subatonic events we can only mathmatically prove exists. We have no clue what these things really are, we can only see their effects. And, perhapse we are looking at effects of a whole other system with interacting forces and components! It seems to me call it random, at our current level of understanding, would be a great diminishing of the brilliance of existence. Now the clincher; if there were no existence there would be nothing. Well, not even nothing because nothing is something. There just would be no being; an absence of all things. If that were the case, and many people, laymans and scientists alike, believe it was the case once. What in the absence of existence, and therefore forces of any kind, was the force which kicked off time and all things?! In my experience athiests don't want to think about it. For people who believe in God the trigger was his first act of will. We can believe it or not, but some force out in the great absence of all things seems to have paridoxically acted.

Again, I don't want to be mean or rude or whatever, but this is just WRONG. And the fact that people are actually falling for it is just a testament to the general lack of skepticism...

Right. It's just dumb luck this infinitely complex thing known as life happened.

There is a better chance a tornado can go through a parts warehouse and the result is in the rubble there sits a completely assembled and operational 747 than dna randomly happened.

I am so glad I saw your post, I really needed to see something of this nature. Thank you.

You seem intelligent enough, I just wish you weren't so jaded. Not one of your attempts to scientifically prove the existence of of all things the Christian god holds up if you actually understand the concepts you are trying to pass off as proof. It was entertaining at least.

So some other god's acts and existence CAN be scientifically proven? Which one(s)? I guess that's why it's called faith.

And if bugs me that both religion and science are merely the pursuit of truth, but considered mutually exclusive. Science can explain the universe if objective methods are used, and faith in understanding keeps us trying to find out more. While faith may not be considered objectivity by the vast multitudes, it is what makes people believe they can, one day, stand in the light of "the truth."

I have heard this argument before and on the surface it seems to be a good one, Non-overlapping magisterium and all that. But faith isn't the issue. Religion is the issue. Certainly you need to have faith in your work to keep yourself going, but you do not need a god. In religion there is no pursuit of the truth, because there is no truth to be gained by those means. There is no room for belief without evidence in the mind of anyone who sees things clearly.

I am sorry to hear that is the case for you. There are some who have connected with their spiritual side, and have felt the prescence of a thing greater than themselves. I hate organized religion, but i have to acknowledge there are things i cant explain which do not want to be explainable for the expressed purpose of necessitating a faith in a greater being. I know it's hard to comprehend that a god who wants to be known would have no physical means by which to know it, but it seems to be the case. Maybe some day, after gaining an advanced understanding of existence, God can be found, then would you believe? Again, though, today we have to go on faith, and when i look around i cannot help but see an amazing plan.

To answer your question. If they found evidence of a god, any god be it the Abrahamic god, Ishtar, Isis, Odin. ANY deity, then yes, I would believe, until then, why would I put my faith in something that has no evidence to support it, not even the whisper of evidence, let's face it even Sasquatch has videos...:P As for your final point, if you looked more carefully, you would realize there is no "plan" at all, forces are at work certainly, but there is no plan that we have evidence for.

It's unfortunate that you do not see the circular and/or dependent logic here. What you have presented here is not scientific proof of anything.

God is not something that exists because it needs to be proven. You are demonstrating your own inner turmoil here by insisting that it needs to be so. I believe in a God, but not because of a Bible or any other ancient scroll written thousands of years ago. I feel no need to prove to anyone that God exists.

Actually, the more i read this, the more i see god. Holy cow, i am convinced. I need to go to church and thank god for my life. Thank him for taking my sis, and killing several relatives, and even more friends. Thank him for all the wars, especially the ones in his name. Thank him of recreating people in his image, one who jokes and has a bizarre sense of humor.

Same old argument, really. God doesn't exist because bad things happen OR God can't be benevolent because bad things happen. A believer would simply point out that you have a childlike concept of the Creator.

Why do you blame God for every bad thing that happens in life passive? On all your posts you go on about God killing your relatives or not saving your sis. Thank him for all the wars. Not once have I heard you mention the devil or man. It's evil men that start wars all in the name of God, you can't blame God for radicals in the world. Just like the pysco in Colorado killing all those people. bad things happen to good people all over the world every day. What do you espect God to do, send down an army of angels to stop every drop of violence on earth. If more people believed in God and hearken to his word and be obedient and serve the Lord with a free will and love. The world wouldn't be full of so much hatred, anger and violence and people like you that are non believes sure don't help the situation. With that kind of attitude, your life may never get better, only get worse. Then you blame God for killing your family and friends and not saving your sis? How can you expect him to when you don't even believe in him?

God does not exist, it is that simple. Stop believing all that **** you have been fed. I dont blame God for anything. I go on about death because people respond to it.
If god was real, then yes he would be the one doing all this stuff, because he is the God.
I have a friend that loves to give god credit for saving sick people. She never blames him for the illness in the first place. I just dont understand this delusion and selective praise.
I have proof that there is no god, it is that simple.

Delusion??? Let me quote a scripture for you passive and anybody that doesn't believe in a Higher Power or an afterlife. "If only in this life ye have hope, drink and be merry, for tomorrow ye shall surely die!". In other words, if you don't believe in God or an afterlife, you better be living it up drinking and partying like hell because you don't have the promise of tomorrow. Let me also personally say, you might not believe now, but if you were laying on your death bed gasping for your last breath you would more than likely ask God for help. Then once you die, you're sure to believe because you'll meet him face to face...

I feel sorry for the both of you. To only believe in this life is very closed minded.
I feel even more sorry for you that you haven't never been able to eprience the joy, love and comfort of knowing and having a personal relationship with Jesus. It's not fictional. Satan is a the Father of lies and both of you are listening to everything he tells you and you're the ones that's losing out. You can bad mouth me all you want, but I will only have compassion for you and pray for you because you don't know what you're saying. Just as Jesus said, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!" I'm not trying to convince myself, I already know and have no doubt what so ever and in no way am I deluded. The one you serve is using you to falsely accuse me and persecute me and my duty is to love you and pray for and that's what I will do. God bless you both in the name of Lord Jesus Christ!

I'm not so sure what this story has to do with being an American, but.... I am so glad to have stumbled upon this! I LOVE reading scientific articles which back-up the Holy scriptures!

For the last few years I have been struggling in my faith. I have always believed that God exists, so His mere existence is not a hard concept for me to grasp. The problem for me has been in feeling any real connection with God and His Word. I realize that the scripture is so old. I also know that many things have happened in the church and in the world since the first manuscripts were penned. All of this sometimes causes me to wonder how much of our current Bible really matches up with the original Word of God to His people.

Your writing, along with other similar scientific writings, is a great encouragement to me and other believers. I wish that more people of faith would take the time to research scientific discoveries which coordinate with the holy writings of ancient times. We live in a modern era where we are fortunate to have advanced technology at our fingertips (we are so blessed and yet we don't even know it). Our generation is no longer forced to believe what some preacher hollers out from the pulpit -- we can search and discover on our own! God has already provided the evidence, and truth is available to everyone. So, if we diligently seek truth, we will find it!

Thanks a lot for all of the time and effort that you put into making this information accessible to all of us EP members. I wish all the best to you and hope that you will keep the stories coming.

You are soooooooooooooooo funny,ha,ha,ha. Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. This system uses observation and experimentation to describe and explain natural phenomena. The term science also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it. My entire story is one using science to prove that the bible story really happened.
