Uncharted

Life is uncharted territory and it deserves to be treated as such.  We enter it empty handed, without a map and without any guaranty, but with all the talents that are waiting to be awakened.  Every child experiences life as an adventure, a fairy tale and unfortunately sometimes a horror story.  It gives to children something eternal and indestructible.  A lot of childhoods are a mixture of good and bad adventures.

I was an adventurer at a very young age.  When we went to visit my mom's family, it was an expedition of over 3 hours by train, from the village to the big city.  The bigger the city, the more adventurous it was.  I hankered for it.

Inevitably, I went to live in the city where my mother was born.  After some false starts my adult life kicked off and brought me to Samarkand, Buchara, Lalibela and Karakorum.  I'm at my best when I'm undertaking an adventure to an unseen and almost forgotten place.

My mind follows my body and in my head I'm equally adventurous.  There is no thought forbidden to think and no emotion I don't recognize.

Yes, Sylph, I firmly believe adventure is mental.
