The Years Finally Caught Up But I'm Okay

I was a skinny boyish kid. In my teens I was always being told I was extremely pretty and then in my twenties - even after I had my first child - the word I heard a lot was stunning. My thirties were good to me and when I left an unhappy marriage at 38 (to an insanely unjustifiably jealous man I had been with since early teens and who believed that being attractive was my fault and made me unfaithful - which I was not ever!!) a friend said 'tragedy becomes you'. Apparently I grew beautiful in a more classic way. To be honest I did always know it and perhaps I was even a little vain but I remained insecure.  At 41 I fell totally absolutely hopelessly head-over-heels in love and all of a sudden I looked in the mirror and saw a woman who glowed. I looked about 10 years younger than I was. The last couple of years have been tough ones - read my story about my troubled teen! So those 10 years have found me but I still sometimes turn heads and it's a good feeling. These days when I'm on the arm of the man I adore and someone glances our way we both hold a little tighter but it's with pride not suspicion. I love the era we live in because we don't have to act our age - whatever that means! I love to wear fashionable clothes and have never given up my killer heels. I'm a little overweight and a typical European pear shape (means I have a big bum) but my legs are still in great shape and as long as I wear black stockings no one can see the varicose veins! The breasts - well after all, they nourished 2 babies and they were not generous to start with - need a little help but pushup bras are not so uncomfortable! My goal is to grow old disgracefully whilst still being a lady - just not a boring old wrinkly one!
