Now What

after you accept the fact you are an alcoholic i am left with the feeling.. now what? after a wasted night full of mistakes i don't know what to do. I can't avoid alcohol it is every where. I am so depressed I don't want to go outside.. what is worse. Being an Alcoholic or not living life.

I'm one, too. I ended up yellow, with no liver function, and in an ambulance going to the emergency room. For 30+ years, I drank every day; I started when I was 12. I didn't know how to do anything without drinking.

Try AA. Just sit there, listen and do what they say. Don't pick 'em apart finding differences; look for similarities. If you stick with it, you'll find someone who strikes a chord with you. Go talk to them. If you're not at all spiritual, ignore the "higher power" stuff and just do the physical parts. Sooner or later, it'll hit you; what the hell was I thinking, doing that for all those years? I'm 8.5 years sober now. I'd be dead if it wasn't for AA

Good luck,J.PS Alcohol is not everywhere even though it may seem that way. It may be everywhere you go now but it's not everywhere, period.
