I used to be religious, when I was about 5. Since then I have obviously figured out that my imaginary friend wasn't going to save me from what happens to every single human being(death). I truly believe that people are using "God" as a way to feel less fear when it comes to death. They are afraid to just stop existing so they created a large human floating in the sky, saving people and sending them to heaven. It is ridiculous and childish. It's like the adult version of Santa. Except instead of toys, you get a cloud house! I guess if it helps people cope with their fears and insecurities, whatever. I'm just tired of the overly crazy, hypocritical jesus freaks. You calling me a "******* sinner" while threatening me is a little bit against the religion you are so adamantly defending.

If people could get a grasp on just how long "eternity" is they may not be so eager to go praise a narcissistic god for that long. Even the statement "how long" makes is irrelevant in the context of infinity.

How much can one soul take? Non-ending worship and praise, nothing else to do for infinity, no after-afterlife to look forward to, just continuous sameness, over and over and…

Maybe you do get a break and play chess for a couple million years or so, then back to the continuous praise. At some point one may want to kill themselves, but then, heaven is eternal life, so even death is not an escape.

I don't want an afterlife. Knowing that there isn't one makes the life I have important, it makes me want to make it worth living. I don't find the idea of some sort of infinite afterlife comforting at all. I think of some vampire books I have read, where the old vampires simply get sick of living and don't care about their lives anymore. Not that I believe in vampires. But I think there comes a point where you are just done with living, and I would like to cease to exist before that happens.

Who would want to be in heaven. Seriously, heaven is against every things man likes.
So is the bible. The bible tries to defeat the laws of nature.... which is why there are no true followers of the bible.
