I Am An Existentialist
A few weeks ago, I decided to look up the word "existensialism" out of curiosity. What I saw in the results had completely enlightened me. After reading several results from several different internent sources, I realized that this philosophy described the way I viewed the world exactly. For the longest time, I felt like I was in a strange and horrific world that I would never be able to understand. The volumes of knowledge and work on nature and the universe is astounding, but to be honest it always frightened me. It frightened me to know that even with the most heartfelt effort, I would never be able to completely understand every single thing in the known universe. I feel that this poem summarizes my point of view of the world (and the existentialist perspective) perfectly:
"The laws of God, the laws of man,
He may keep that will and can
