I Am An Indigo Child
i've been told that i am, and i can certainly identify with the description. the whole alien thing sounds pretty ridiculous, but as a personality description it's pretty accurate. ::shrug::
basically, it went down like this. a friend of mine that works in the montessori school system (the school system in which i spent my childhood) was telling me about some experiences she had with kids at her school who'd been identified as indigo. she hesitantly told me that she hoped that i wasn't offended, but she was sure i was one too. rather than being offended i was flattered, but more than flattered. it was like my body and psyche instinctively responded with a resounding "yes!" like i'd heard that term somewhere before and had forgotten it. i felt energized and responsive. i really can't explain it.
yes, it's highly possible that i just like being told i'm special. who doesn't? but it's also possible that there's something more.
so i did a bunch of internet research. there's a lot of information of various degrees of scholarliness out there. some of it totally made sense. some not so much. so i just kind of left it at that. if there's a next step then i'd be interested in pursuing it, but otherwise i'll just file myself under the indigo label with equal degrees of pride and curiosity.
