Borderline Infj/intj

Took the quick quiz here:

-- and got INFJ, but a more in-depth questionnaire pegged me as INTJ. Whatever. Seems I've made the right career choice! :-)

Counselors have an exceptionally strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others, and find great personal fulfillment interacting with people, nurturing their personal development, guiding them to realize their human potential. Although they are happy working at jobs (such as writing) that require solitude and close attention, Counselors do quite well with individuals or groups of people, provided that the personal interactions are not superficial, and that they find some quiet, private time every now and then to recharge their batteries. Counselors are both kind and positive in their handling of others; they are great listeners and seem naturally interested in helping people with their personal problems. Not usually visible leaders, Counselors prefer to work intensely with those close to them, especially on a one-to-one basis, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes.

Counselors are scarce, little more than one percent of the population, and can be hard to get to know, since they tend not to share their innermost thoughts or their powerful emotional reactions except with their loved ones. They are highly private people, with an unusually rich, complicated inner life. Friends or colleagues who have known them for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that Counselors are flighty or scattered; they value their integrity a great deal, but they have mysterious, intricately woven personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.

Counselors tend to work effectively in organizations. They value staff harmony and make every effort to help an organization run smoothly and pleasantly. They understand and use human systems creatively, and are good at consulting and cooperating with others. As employees or employers, Counselors are concerned with people's feelings and are able to act as a barometer of the feelings within the organization.

Blessed with vivid imaginations, Counselors are often seen as the most poetical of all the types, and in fact they use a lot of poetic imagery in their everyday language. Their great talent for language-both written and spoken-is usually directed toward communicating with people in a personalized way. Counselors are highly intuitive and can recognize another's emotions or intentions - good or evil - even before that person is aware of them. Counselors themselves can seldom tell how they came to read others' feelings so keenly. This extreme sensitivity to others could very well be the basis of the Counselor's remarkable ability to experience a whole array of psychic phenomena.

This does make me believe you are a wonderful person to have as a friend and confidant.
This also describes a number of my traits too. I guess there is a bit of cross over between people.
Thank you.

You are making me curioser & curiouser, m'friend....

That makes me smile! Thank you.

"woman in the sexy carnival costume"... Yeah, I see how you could see that. It really is funny that you didn't see it before.
ROFL! Years ago, when the Rohrschach was administered to me, I told the examiner, "Look, they are all a bunch of vaginas, okay? I'm too self-conscious to point out every single one, okay?" and I added that "They are mostly actually vulvas, because the vagina is the inside, hollow part.' In the evaluation he wrote that "the subject related well to the examiner". (Also, I'd observed that another test (TAT - Thematic Apperception Test) would make a fun party game.
Y'know, thinking in R-shock terms, your avatar has a certain... gushy joyousness.
Would love to see the .avi update! :)

Ha!! Now that you mention it (Rohrschach-y) -- I can see it! So funny I didn't before. I guess that's because in its original sizing, it was much easier to make out the woman in the sexy carnival costume. Perhaps I'll consider an avi update quite soon. :-)

The Counselor decription was for the INFJ? (the most psychic one, I've heard)
Am an INTP myself, but have emotions and feelings (therapy?). Your description sounds pretty good to me, I have counseling ambitions, am one step away from becoming a life-coach (since I already do a lot of it for free).
This is my first day here. Interesting stuff.

(BTW, your avatar is very Rohrschach-y.)

Sorry I took so long to get back to you.... I was distracted.
Now .... please, I never mentioned actually trying to put such plans into action in their entirety (although I could probably organize a few folks to make a stab at it).

*swivels head* World domination??? Did someone say "WORLD DOMINATION"???! (lol! Not interested. Planning would be fun, but execution would be a b*tch!)

And there's a fatal flaw w/your plan newday. How're you gonna coax a bunch of introverts into a bar? I say we commune w/Carl via introspection, then post our findings to a listserv. *grin*

Hey Epeeps I'm an INTJ as well. We should hang out in Jung's bar some night and share plans for world domination.
