Good Resources For Infj

I was trying to decide whether I had INFJ or INFP preferences -- or maybe INTJ, because I've gotten those results sometimes too.

What really helped me were these two resources:

I feel like I understand myself soooo much better now, especially after reading these two sites. It helped give me permission to be who I am.

Reminds me of that quote:

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

those sites helped me too :) !

Thanks for the resources and nice quote. ;)

A big difference between Js and Ps is that Ps are always in the moment. To a J a P can be annoying because it always seems as though Ps are always changing their mind. Perhaps whats really happening is that P's are always choosing in the moment.

J's make up their mind and don't spend a lot of time looking back. P's have a hard time making up their mind and keep revisiting the decision .

If a P says they will do something on a certain date with you , what they really mean is if nothing else better comes a long then I will probably do whatever with you but if something else comes along don't count on me.

Js if they give you a commitment fully intend to honor that commitment unless something totally beyond their control intervenes.

Real story:
A P friend of mind mentioned that he was going to paint his house on a certain day and said casually in our circle of friends that he was going to need help painting the house. I volunteered and on the date specified I showed up at his house with my painting clothes on.

He was very surpised. I was surprised that he was surprised. He said that people say things all the time meaning to be social but that everyone understands that its not meant to be binding.

That gave me a lot to think about. I never told people I was going to do something unless I actually intended to do it. It also made me very sad because if someone had told me this social convention of lying socially I would have been a lot less hurt and disappointed in my life.

I have since become much less casual about accepting P's into my life.

That's a wonderful site for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves. I'm glad you shared it. I've shared some sections with my friends who are not INFXs and they found it interesting. I learned a lot there and learned so much about myself and the world around me.
I'm having trouble deciding between those two types. I've been through all the activities on that site, reflected deeply and I identified strongly with INFJ at the end of one page, only to identify with INFP at the end of the next page. That pattern ensued throughout the whole site! (hehe)

Anyway, I love the Emerson quote you shared. Something I try to live by.
