I'm Not Sure You Can Be

I think we can act like one or the other at different times, even performing in each way of living well, But being an introvert or being an extrovert goes to what energizes us or drains us, and I think it's hard to be both. One of the other energizes up. One or the other saps energy from us.

For instance, most people would call me an extrovert because I am great with people, and I "perform" well in groups and public situations. But I can't do it all the time or I die inside. I feel drained unless I get my alone time.

My mom is the opposite. She has a thinking job where she spends lots of time alone, cogitating. She's great at it. But THAT drains her. She gets energized in public gatherings, parties, etc.

I think that thing, whatever energizes us, is in our spirit, and we are one or the other, at our deepest soul.

But what do I know? I'm a blonde.

Well said Charlotte- I too am erring towards the extrovert - I spend all day being with clients, and customers - allways trying to please other people- and after several hours of my extroverish behavior, I am too tired sometimes, to even sit and look at the tv. Just wanna sit there, and stare at the wall.
Lovely post to read - thank you!!
