Appreciate the post. One thought about #9: Maybe introvert brains are not too sensitive to dopamine. Maybe extravert brains aren't sensitive enough. Or maybe they just have different sensitivities.

I read this article in the last couple of days too. I think this is meant for extroverts. Most introverts I believe will relate to the majority of "myths." At least I feel like most of these I fit into.

The myths are what extroverts think of introverts. Then they show why the myth is a myth.

I can agree with most of it, but not all of it. Everyone's unique, and even if you are an introvert, it doesn't necessarily mean you qualify for all the criteria. I'm sure your implication was fine, but people may read it differently. I myself am an introvert, though I love adrenaline and a stimulating environment. It might not be my natural habitat, and I don't necessarily function well in such an environment, but I enjoy it.

However, this post does open eyes.

It is not meant to be that introverts have all 10 of the myths. Just that these are 10 myths of introverts. We are each individuals and may or may not have all 10. These are the main things that others say about introverts, not that we each have all 10

Great post. I don't know how I missed this one earlier. Thank you for helping to set the record straight on myths like these. The one that always haunted me, as the only introvert in my family, is #10. Introverts are not "broken", and we don't have to become like extroverts to be of value. We are just right the way we are.

thanks for posting!! also look into the 'ambivert' i think most introverts are able to adapt to such and extroverted world and in turn become ambiverted, I have noticed that at once time I considered myself such a introvert, until school, work and just growing up in general sorta told me its okay to be extroverted.

    anyway great post. :)

Thank you very much for sharing this amazing post. Too many people mistake introversion for shyness or rudeness, and you explain it clearly: it is not that we don't like to talk or interact with another people, it is that we need a good reason to do it, we don't do it just for small talk.

Love this post! I think extroverts need to read this so they will better understand. I've met many extroverts who seem to think they're better somehow. We're just different :)

Thanks for posting this. I feel identified with 90% of these, it's nice to know tht all those feelings are normal, and that hoepfully there's people out there that can respect that. Though I'm not sure I've met any yet in real life.

I like this post very much. Most of it applies to me to some extent. Some people will never understand... but others do. I am married to quite an extrovert person, she gets me most of the time. I often say, she tunes into people and I tune into places.

I enjoyed reading these, thanks for busting those myths. ;) I hated being called "shy" all my life... that wasn't true at all... I just didn't need to be the center of attention adn I don't talk to hear myself yap. And yes, small talk... no thanks. I also was accused of being a snob early on. I also only really truly reveal myself to a select few. ;)
