I want to accept the fact that I am an introvert, but I get upset because I feel like I am missing out on something when I hang out with extroverts who are having a lot of fun and I just can't seem to get into it. Does anyone else feel this way? It's so hard to accept who I am because of it.

Being and introvert doesn't mean you can't have fun in social situations. If that's the problem you're having then you have another issue.
It does mean we need some alone time to recharge. Instead of going to everything with your friends and trying to keep up, schedule some down time and only go to the events you care about or that will be the most fun.
You'll never be happy trying to keep up with extroverts. It's just not how you're made.
Extroverts make friend my proximity whereas introverts make friends by connecting. If you have to go to everything find a buddy and make a connection rather then trying to imitate them.

I know exactly how you feel. Almost all of my friends are extroverts and need social time almost constantly, but that's exhausting for me. A lot of people don't seem to understand introverted behaviors, and it sucks.
