My Gift From Heaven

My husband and I got married when I was 38, and since neither of us had any kids, we immediately started trying.  First, I didn't get pregnant at all, then after using some medications, I was able to conceive.  Five times in a row I was pregnant until 10-12 weeks, and then I would miscarry.  Physically and emotionally things took their toll on me, and we both decided that we just could not have kids.  Doctors told me that without invitro fertilization I would never get pregnant.
We decided to adopt, and while we were going through that process, my husband and I decided to take a break from ALL things related to babies for awhile.  Two months after that, completely out of the blue, without ANY medications, I found out I was pregnant at age 41!!!!  Man, were we scared!!!!
It was a high risk pregnancy, but the worst that happened was that I needed a C-section.  At age 42, I gave birth to a perfectly healthy full-term baby boy, and we couldn't be happier.  THAT is what makes me an old mom, but I'm young at heart!!!!!

YOU GO GIRL!! You are at the other end of the spectrum from me. I was 16 when I had my first child. Believe me, THAT'S SCARY! The saving grace is that when you're 16, you don't know it's scary! My mother had me 2 months before she turned 41. She was an AWESOME mom, and I know you will be, too! From one "old mother" to another, I THINK YOU ROCK~!
