Hypocrisy At Its Best - Mormons

Granted I have a very unique perspective in this matter, one that I will admit may have given me a rather limited opinion, but to me the Mormon / LDS Church is a hands-down winner in the hypocrisy department.

They claim to be Christians on one hand and believe in a man who only shares the name but not the life in many aspects on the other.

They claim to uphold families as one of their highest values and yet have all too often gone out of their ways to destroy families to gain new members.

They believe in a heavenly father who is nothing more than an ascended man of flesh and blood, one of multiple gods of which any mortal man can become.

They claim equality amongst all men and yet the initial teachings pointed to dark skinned people as being cursed and in league with Satan.

They claim that their book (Book of Mormons) is the one and only TRUE book, yet it has been edited nearly 4000 changes since its initial printing.

They claim that men and women are equals and yet it is clearly established throughout the rituals and ideas that women and men have very different roles and goals, namely that the men will become gods themselves and that the women will be by their side as wife and mother to their children, but not goddesses themselves.

The list goes on and on, and as a former Mormon I truly believe that the hypocrisy of the LDS Church wins above all others mostly because of this one supreme point. The founder of the church, Joseph Smith was proven to be a liar time and time again and yet the church prospers and continues to enslave people into its ways claiming that the church is the one and only TRUE church.

Truth built on a foundation of lies.  Hard to be any more hypocrite than that.
