Thoughts On Recovery

In all of your loneliness
Do you ever wonder
If your achievements were worth
Their toil?
Did stolen moments pass you by,
And reappear in your dreams,
Haunting you, those untasted desires?
And if you could go back to that time
That you did not die but ceased to live
Could you have changed your future?
Had you the sanity, or the will,
To pull yourself out from the sea in which
You were drowning?
And now that you are dry
With a towel wrapped about you
Do you curse yourself
Your mind and body who fought
Until the death of you until each one perished?
In al of my isolation
I read the testimonies of other survivors
So for that one second
I can come home
