yeah i found it weird you wrote such a story.. i can understand what the native australians have been through.. believe it or not.. every country in this world has been occupied one way or another.. the most recent is cyprus that lost one third of its country to turkey in the 1970's.. it wasnt 100s of years ago.. i wont get into whats happening in africa for the last 400 years.. and still till today..

to get back to what i was saying.. i found your story weird because a lot of aboriginal people lost their lives during these wars.. and we all honor them also.. there is never a winner in war.. everyone loses..

i wasnt born in australia.. but i celebrate anzac day like no other day here in australia.. when the bigul sounds.. it hits me straight to the heart.. its the only time i tear up.. it gets me every time..

i can see you were upset about what other people wrote.. but i just found it weird anyone would write that.. especially when the aboriginal people lost their lives also

These people died because they were either conscripted against their will or because government/military propoganda spurred them to become 'heroes!'

War is wrong under any circumstances - surely as civilised human beings we can work stuff out without having to blow the living crap out of ourselves, our 'enemies', our environment! Choosing to glorify this kind of behaviour is absurd, it is just breeding future generations of people who think the way to solve problems is to kill and destroy, and that your country will give you a big pat on the back if you happened to be killed or injured during the process because you are a 'hero'.

the reason you can write these things and voice your opinion is because people died to protect freedom of speech and a way of life you may not had if things had been different you are a discrace and should hang your head in shame everything you have now is because of those people

    Ungreatful cow.

Over 500 soldiers died everyday for over 280 days at Galipolli to ensure we live the life we have today.

You talk about moving on, how about all the crap your people go on about "Sorry". Get over it. You are ungreatful. Why dont you dont give up all your nice new electronics and lifestyle and move back into your "Traditional Land".Of course you wouldnt do that would you, you might miss your nice car or your big tv. There are some genuine aboriginals and then there are the desendants who cause trouble, and you my dear sound like the trouble type. What have YOU done for your country????????? These people died for our country. No matter who we are we should be PROUD to call ourselves Australian. Yes I am an ex soldier who served over 20 yrs to ensure that we have the life we live today.

exsasguy....this story was posted by bornwrongyear on march 7th 2010....you can see that i used her words but changed them to relate to anzac day ....to see how offended aussies would be and yes it caused outrage ....so how do you think aboriginal people felt at reading the original script of my story

""""I'm so sick of hearing about sorry day! yes I agree the PM has said sorry now lets move on! My family heritage is Scottish but do i ask for the English to say sorry for raping and stealing my ancestors people and land???? No I don't worry about it!!! It happen 100s of years ago, and now I'm being told my children have to participate in Sorry Day! How long doe's it take for people to move on and get there act together!!!!!!"....some of the responses to the original story are so offensive. there are many racist people on this site...and if you care to go to bornwrongyears story you will see what i mean.......

once again these are not my words but words written by a racist

me abusive? what the ****? look at the comment above, thats worse.... and you call me abusive. hahha. well, maybe if you were smart, you can comprehend witch one is more recent... and witch had more meaning, look at Australia now, and think what would have happened if the Japanese invaded.

Also AS YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO TELL, i was part of Australia’s elite Special Air Service Regiment, and as such i’m extremely patriotic. also in the Military, and defiantly Special Forces.... we don’t except queers, so your comment is irrelevant and also don’t be a ******* looser and say **** about gays or lesbians they are equal to don’t call people queer if they aren’t.

for calling me an ignorant, abusive troll: go smoke some petrol... also use punctuation some time soon before commenting and saying ****.

One last thing LERN YOUR ******* HISTORY. FIND OUT WHAT ANZAC MEANS, AND WHEN IT STARTED, IT DOES NOT EQUAL TOO HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO!

this goes to anyone who is ‘’sick’’ of ANZAC day. why should we care about who died hundreds of years ago (when colonists killed the natives). you tell us to move on? haha thats a joke. if you are still going on about that, then YOU should 'move on’ -.- i had family who died as ANZACs. i myself in a way am an ANZAC on an Elite level (serving with the NZSAS and myself being a member of the SASR). if you are in any way mature you will contribute to ANZAC day in anyway shape or form. even by not complaining about is doing the right thing. sorry if this was offensive in anyway but it got me pissed when i read it.

Huh. At first when I read this story I thought "I can sympathize". (I didn't realize the story was ironic. The last sentence, surely, is meant seriously?) The thing is, I live in Tasmania and there are three church graveyards (with stone headstones & everything) near my house. Looking at them, I can't help thinking of all the aboriginal people who would have died here, many of them fighting for their land, but with no kind of marker at all. They have been almost entirely erased from this place. I think it's a bit disgusting of my fellow "white" people to sort of flaunt how "important" we think our graves are, meanwhile the native owners were (nearly) wiped out by white people. It makes me feel very sorry and ashamed.

oh please dont feel stupid ...its my fault ...it is a terrible trick i played hoping to get a response from the one who posted the sorry day story...so i could throw her words back in her face......

it was hard for me to write this story cos i felt disgraceful about the word content how disrespectful it is to our diggers and their descendants ....do you recall how you felt when you read this story, how hurt and offended you were.... well thats how we are made to feel almost everyday by aussies who claim they aint racist but.......

anzac day is celebrated every year to remind us of the pain and suffering endured by the diggers ...the families and the next generations carry on their legacy each year.....lest we forget the fallen..its almost 100 years since WW1 .......and we have never forgotten and the next generations are reminded every year and march for their fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers.......

we are only asking for the same.... remembrance...... of our fallen....not to be continually told it happened to long ago ...get over it

celia im sorry that my story upset you ......i respect anzac day and i respect your intelligent response ...one given without abuse ..thankyou......i posted this in retalliation of the story that was posted "im so sick of sorry day" in this group ...if you go to that story you will see that i have copied the words but changed the references from sorry day to anzac day........if you read some of the comments you may understand why i was so offended.... it is quite obvious to me that for whitefellas it is "lest we forget " but when it comes to blackfellas its stop complaining it happened 100's of years ago.....
