Dear Too Scared To Get Help:
I certainly understand your feelings. They are real and completely normal when you are suffering from an eating disorder. I have suffered from one for many many years and know first hand what it feels like to cut down on calories and exercise the way you do. The problem is, is that because ours thoughts are so focused on how we think we look as to how we really look, we lose sight of what we are physically doing to our bodies and the repercussions later on. Wanting to watch our weight is okay. It's when we become obsessed that it becomes a problem which ultimately can lead to death. Being that you are already 20 years old I think that communicating with your mother would be a good idea. Tell her how you feel and you might be surprised at how she responds
