I Am Being Invaded
I am a woman in my early twenties. I live in my father's house. However I pay the utilities (phone, power, internet, food etc) My father lives on his sailboat but he still has a room here. He comes home randomly. Today I was planning on doing some recording and I need the house quiet. I called him to ask him if he was planning on coming home because if he were I'd do it when I knew I'd be alone. I also told him that reason. He said, "you are up to something sneaky you don't want me to know about' As long as you are living in my home I don't owe you any privacy. I should be able to come home any time I please and it doesn't matter what you think. I don't owe you the cosideratiion. Its my house and I'm offended that you expect me to check in when I come home"
I really think he does need to tell me when he's coming home. I tell him when I'm coming home. He says we are not equals and he does not owe me what I owe him. Since I am an adult I dissagree. What do you all think? Do you think my dad is being a controlling person? Do you think he has the right to come home any time?
