It's a Part of Me

I have been Bipolar since I was a child. My earliest memories of the emotional and mental upheaveals are from the age of 12. I was not diagnosed until 1997 at the age of 37. I remember thinking it was such a relief to finally know what was wrong--for years I thought I was in the slow process of losing my mind. I will be on medication for the rest of my life due to the base reason for the Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in my brain. I still have a hard time controlling my moods. I have a very loving and patient boyfriend that has been among other Bipolar people and knows how to deal with it. Sometimes though it's nice to have others to talk to that has been in my shoes and understand first hand what it is like.

Know the feeling Chris. I was 44 when the dots were finally connected. I was always wondering what was wrong, but couldn't fathom it. I expect to be on good old lithium the rest of my life. If I were diabetic I would need insulin the rest of my life ~~ same difference.
With the lithium and CBT and going through the Hoffman Process I am finding a lot of my life easier to manage and often just enjoy.
Thanks for dropping a line.
