I Am Canadian

Okay So I'm Not A Canadian But...

I live in the UK and we have pretty much the same system as Canada. I think it is a fantstic system. I know a man who has recently been told he has cancer. I know he would have no way of paying for treatment if he lived in the US. I see a psycologist and I know there would no way for my Mum to pay if we didn't have the NHS. The NHS is in my opinion a real credit to the UK. Prescriptions here cost £6 something for those who work and are free for those in education or retired. It costs the same if you need 20 pills or 100 pills. So yes big love to the NHS!

    30 years ago Canada had one of the best health care systems in the World but now they are making lots of funding cuts and privatizing a lot of the jobs so corners are cut - they are doing the same thing to our public education system. On the other hand 20 years ago Canada went through a crises called brain drain - a lot of doctors and professional people went and lived and worked in the United States for more money but after a few years most of them came back – once a Canadian always a Canadian.
