I Am Christian
The Jehovahs Witness movement prior to the necessity to print their own translation of the Bible used the KJV.
Many passages of scripture in the KJV are very inconvenient such as John 1:1 " In the begining was the word, the word was with God and the word was God" by changing the wording of this scripture to " In the begining was the word the word was with God and the word was a god' by adding the article (a) changes the whole meaning of the sentence to suit the Watchtower teaching that Jesus is not God.
Using the Watchtowers own publications the reader can decide for themselves whether Jesus is Jehovah.
Reading at Isaiah 44:24 from the New World Translation.
' This is what Jehovah has said, your repurchaser and the former of you from the belly; I Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the heavens by myself, laying out the earth.Who was with me?
This verse clearly states that Jehovah is the source of creation.
If you contrast what the Bible says here, with what is contained in the book titled The Harp of God 1928 page 99 published by the Watchtower as folows.
The Logos was the first and only direct creation of Jehovah, and thereafter Gods creation was performed through his Logos. This is the thought expressed by the apostle Paul, who said Jesus " is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creatire, for by him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by him, and for him, and he is before all things, and by him all things consist' Colossians 1:15-17
The above verse creates a problem, as you will agree, the Bible cannot have two creators as the watchtower contends
Again reading from the NWT as follows
" You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the power, becasue you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created" Revelation 4:11. The creator can only be Jehovah, anything else makes the Bible contradict itself, and we know God is not a God of confusion. Jesus is Jehovah.
