The Scientific Death Of Jesus By Jennifer Flores

THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS
For the next 60 seconds, set aside whatever
You're doing and take this opportunity! Let's see if Satan
Can stop this.

... ... ... ... THE
(SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS

At the age of 33,
Jesus was condemned to death .

At the time
Crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst
Criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was
Even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike
Other criminals condemned to death by
Crucifixion Jesus was to be nailed to the
Cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail
Was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails
Were driven into His wrist. Not
Into His palms as is commonly
Portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that
Extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew
That when the nails were being hammered into the
Wrist that tendon would tear and
Break, forcing Jesus to use His back
Muscles to support himself so that He could
Breath.

Both of His feet
Were nailed together. Thus He was forced to
Support Himself on the single nail that
Impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could
Not support himself with His legs because of the pain
So He was forced to alternate between arching His
Back then using his legs just to continue to
Breath. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the
Suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this
Reality for over 3 hours.

Yes,
Over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of
Suffering? A few minutes before He died,
Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water
From his wounds.

From common images
We see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound
To His side... But do we realize His wounds
Were actually made in his body. A hammer
Driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped
And an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a
Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But
Before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and
Beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the
Flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His
Face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The
Crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men
Would not have survived this torture.

"

He had no more blood
To bleed out, only water poured from His
Wounds.
The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters
(just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5
Liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His
Members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond
That, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His
Chest..

All these without
Mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own
Cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his
Face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight,
Only for its higher part, where His hands were
Nailed).

Jesus had
To endure this experience, to open the
Gates of Heaven,
So that you can have free
Access to God.

So that your sins
Could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception!
Don't ignore this situation.

JESUS
CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

He died for you! It
Is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but
When it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward
To others because you are worried of what they may think
About you.

God
Has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced
To save you. Now think about this! May God bless your
Life!

60
Seconds with God...

For the next 60
Seconds, set aside what you're doing and take
This opportunity! Let's see if Satan can stop
This.

All you have to do
Is:

1. Simply
Pray for the person who sent this message to
You:

2.Then, send this
Message to people.. The more the better.

3. People will
Pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God
For other people.

4. Take a
Moment to appreciate the power of God in your life, for
Doing what pleases Him.

If you are not
Ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus' instructions.
He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33): "Everyone therefore
Who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge
before My Father in heaven; but whosoever denies Me
before others, I will deny before my Father in heaven.

A very good post! You really described what Jesus went through. But there is another common misconception about his death.

According to Greek scholar W. E. Vine, stauros′ “denotes, primarily, an upright pale or stake. On such malefactors were nailed for execution. Both the noun and the verb stauroō, to fasten to a stake or pale, are originally to be distinguished from the ecclesiastical form of a two beamed cross.”

The Imperial Bible-Dictionary says that the word stauros′ “properly signified a stake, an upright pole, or piece of paling, on which anything might be hung, or which might be used in impaling a piece of ground.” The dictionary continues: “Even amongst the Romans the crux (Latin, from which our cross is derived) appears to have been originally an upright pole.” Thus, it is not surprising that The Catholic Encyclopedia states: “Certain it is, at any rate, that the cross originally consisted of a simple vertical pole, sharpened at its upper end.”

There is another Greek word, xy′lon, that Bible writers used to describe the instrument of Jesus’ execution. A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament defines xy′lon as “a piece of timber, a wooden stake.” It goes on to say that like stauros′, xy′lon “was simply an upright pale or stake to which the Romans nailed those who were thus said to be crucified.”

In line with this, we note that the King James Version reads at Acts 5:30: “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree [xy′lon].” Other versions, though rendering stauros′ as “cross,” also translate xy′lon as “tree.” At Acts 13:29, The Jerusalem Bible says of Jesus: “When they had carried out everything that scripture foretells about him they took him down from the tree [xy′lon] and buried him.”

In view of the basic meaning of the Greek words stauros′ and xy′lon, the Critical Lexicon and Concordance, quoted above, observes: “Both words disagree with the modern idea of a cross, with which we have become familiarised by pictures.” In other words, what the Gospel writers described using the word stauros′ was nothing like what people today call a cross. Appropriately, therefore, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures uses the expression “torture stake” at Matthew 27:40-42 and in other places where the word stauros′ appears. Similarly, the Complete Jewish Bible uses the expression “execution stake.”

You have not demonstrated having proof of anything.

To think about this does not "feel good" and very few churches will preach it except for once a year on Easter morning. The Gospel today is all roses and peace and love. Well, The Truth Hurts, quite literally. Read it, and passed it on.

I just want to make a few corrections.

One) The Roman soldiers didn't nail his wrists (provided he's real) to hit large tendons. They did it because the weight of the average male at his age would have caused the nails to rip through his palms.

Two) Jesus' death (if it did occur) would have been much longer than three hours. The Romans purposefully attacked the LESS vulnerable areas of the body in order to DECREASE blood loss.

Three) The death of Jesus (if it did occur) was by no means worse than others on the cross. I mean, yeah, it was horrible, but it wasn't worse...at all. He was killed on a cross like any other cross victim was.

Four) Even if the nails were in his wrists, ropes were needed to hold him up. If a man or woman was to try to lift themselves up with only nails in their wrists and feet, the nails would rip through their wrists. So, the Romans would have used ropes.

Five) Just a grammatical note: "His" or "he" is not a proper noun.

I really, but really, wish you would educate yourself on the subject before commenting. You are wrong on so many accounts I don't even want to reply. Please do your research.

If I'm "wrong on so many accounts" and you "don't even want to reply" because of it, this is what I read. "You're generally accurate, but I don't think I should have to find the information to correct your few minor flaws." Just because you say I'm wrong doesn't mean I am. Evidence is the center of technological evolution; words are not.

'Wrong on so many accounts' doesn't equate to 'generally accurate'. That is like saying that a sandwich (argument) with 'so many' feces (false statements) in it is still 'generally' good (accurate) because it still has some meat (substance). Also, 'many' is an antonym to 'few'. And no, me saying you are wrong does not mean that you are, which is why I indicated that you should do your own, unbiased, research. (BTW saying to the author that he is wrong doesn't mean he is either does it? Yet you made 'corrections' to his analysis). I have already done mine, and it is quite a job, but well worth it. Lastly, evidence is the center of technological evolution, which is why archaeologists use evidence based on facts and science to make conclusions. Words and symbols are evidence of history. How else would you know what a swastika represents? I realize that I am leaving you with the burden of proof, but honestly, the research in itself is so rewarding, I personally think every person should delve deeper in this subject. After all, what is more important then eternity?

Fine. Where's your research, that I'm wrong? I've had exactly none of it. And eternity is a whiteness (whiteness is the absence of color) without sight, smell, taste, feel, or hearing. Thought is also impossible. The idea of Heaven is like comfort food. You can eat all you want, but it's not good for you.

GREAT POST, It is interesting that when people seek historic and scientific proof of Jesus, they immediately discount the Bible as a reliable source.

If we look at the Bible simply as a historic document, it should be among the most reliable on record compared with others.

Historians routinely cite Herodotus as a key source of information. He wrote from 488 B.C. to 428 B.C. and the earliest copy of his work comes from 900 A.D. (1,300 years later). There are only eight known copies of his work.

By contrast, the New Testament of the Bible (with all its information about Jesus) was written between 40 A.D. and 100 A.D. The earliest known copy is from 130 A.D. and there are 5,000 known copies in Greek, 10,000 in Latin and 9,300 in other languages.

Still, to put to rest the notion that there is no historic and scientific proof of Jesus outside the Bible, we may look to Jewish historian Flavius Josephus and to Roman historian Carius Cornelius Tacitus - both well known and accepted.

Josephus, in the book Jewish Antiquities" wrote:

"At that time lived Jesus, a wise man, if he may be called a man; for he performed many wonderful works. He was a teacher of such men as received the truth with pleasure. . . .And when Pilate, at the instigation of the chief men among us, had condemned him to the cross, they who before had conceived an affection for him did not cease to adhere to him. For on the third day he appeared to them alive again, the divine prophets having foretold these and many other wonderful things concerning him. And the sect of the Christians, so called from him, subsists at this time" (Antiquities, Book 18, Chapter 3, Section 1).

Tacitus, in writing about accusations that Nero burned the city of Rome and blamed it on Christians, said the following:

". . .Nero procured others to be accused, and inflicted exquisite punishment upon those people, who were in abhorrence for their crimes, and were commonly known by the name of Christians. They had their denomination from Christus (Christ, dm.), who in the reign of Tibertius was put to death as a criminal by the procurator Pontius Pilate. . . .At first they were only apprehended who confessed themselves of that sect; afterwards a vast multitude discovered by them, all of which were condemned, not so much for the crime of burning the city, as for their enmity to mankind. . . ." (Tacitus, Annals, 15, 44).

When you research the history of Hitler and the Nazis do go by Hitler's diaries, Nazi Propaganda, Nazi Newsletters, Nazi Broadcastings, Nazi photography, Nazi elections, Mein Kmapf, and Nazi Leaders who worshiped Hitler as a primary source? Of course you don't because it is biased. It is based on only one view which its THE NAZI PARTY. Therefore you go to the people who were the victims of the NAZIS and assess their story and see if it matches up to the claims of the secondary source being the NAZIS. When it comes to the bible other people who are not apart of this believe system do not stop using the investigative method with this subject this because it is considered off limits or sacrilegious by a group of people. The people who unbaisly go to investigate this will try to the best degree give the same reasonable doubt to this subject as they would do to any other subject until proven other wise. When you quote only CHRISTIAN sources to defend and CHRISTIAN PROSE of course the person who is investigating the issue is not going to take that word as highly as they would an outside source. It is only one side. You can come up with as many prose and arguments as you like but until is it from an completely neutral view how can the people who investigates these areas take it seriously. You should also approach it more open-mindedly. When you make presumptuous statements like "They immediately discount the bible as a reliable source" tell me that you don't know who THEY are. You are making rash judgments before you even ask the person about it. You could have just as like said "You have a very interesting point of view. However why do you count the bible as highly as other information?" Your approach is always noted with me. The way that you responded to previous messages also tells me through the tone that you have left in your typings that you did not full comprehend what this person was stating. But you rather jumped at the chance to show your new found research into the historical evidence of this time period and quoted as much as you could possibly remember in this discourse or yours. However you never truly address the situation at hand or truly made a feasible point in your rantings. Your proofs do not support your argument but rather hurt it. Instead of disproving the person in whom you were responding to with critical anaylsis of their own flawed statements and then used more unbaised proofs that are general accepted by both sides or at least tried to see where this person is coming from and try to understand their view as they probably don't see themselves as blind lost sheep or demon infested people being controlled by some power crazy spirit. It would have helped your case. Maybe through the view of people that are not believers like me and that other person whatever she or he or other maybe you have just proven the other individual correct in their assumption about you.

Thank you and Amen!

Thank you very much

Thank you so much for posting such a thought provoking image of what Christ did for us and how much pain he endured. I needed to hear this for my own personal reasons.
