The Chatisment Of God

I have been thinking alot lately about the chatisment of God. In the past I heard and/or read ALOT of people comparing the chatisment of God to getting spanked. I think the chatisment of God is a very sound Biblical concept, but comparing it to a spanking trivializes the issue. Granted, being spanked as children is the worst thing that happens to most people, but comparing the chatisment of God to being spanked, does not help anyone understand the chatisment of God, it trivializes the issue.

    In Isaiah 54:9,10.......It lets me know God is not mad at me.It's all about what Jesus has done ,paying the price at the cross.I don't allow religion to have me thinking God brings wrath/chatisment on me.God loves us,The price has been paid in full...I do study scriptures so that my conscience,nor false doctrine or the devil can have their stupid way with me.Please forgive me if I was too wordy.

      I see your point, sir. I'm not trying to start a theological, or any other kind of debate, but when you punish your kids, does that mean you don't love them? It seems to me that if you didn't love them you wouldn't care what they did. Your reply was not too wordy. I can think of many much worse subjesc thatn God to read 5 lines about.

      No ,I assure you I see your point and thanks for being so kind about my (wordyless ness?)....I'm sure God does correct us but in a way that go to our mind and heart,a beautiful ,kind ,supernatural way.Again thanks for being so kind!

    i havent heard of the chatisment of God, it sounds like disipline. ill have to look in to it.... know where it talks about it in scripture?

      Hebrews 12: 5 - 12 talks about it. There are other passages but that's the best one.
