Thank you for the comments, suggestions, and challenges. I have gathered research material and directions to more. I will write it in a "part two" early next week. I will hopefully have a corrected timeline and documented facts.
I do want to clear something up. I am not trying to disprove or correct anyone's belief. I am trying to learn and share what I interpret. It may not be what you interpret or believe. Diversity and different opinions are what make our race wonderful and exciting.

I am looking for more proof than one mortal king's version of history 2000 years ago and 500 years or so before his time.
Relying on what you said in relation to the first sentence i gather you are challenging the veracity of the NT. Without which we have no knowledge whatsoever about the change in Gods plan of salvation for all mankind, and the life and times of Jesus, to do so is to reduce the power of the same God that created everything to such a degree that He was incapable of preserving His word, either the NT is Gods revelation to mankind or it isn't, he Bible is the word of God as distinct from containing the word of God as many believe.

Thank you. I am not discounting Jesus as our saviour. I am using the brain and hunger for knowledge that God instilled in me. I am trying to learn. I have said this in other replies, but it bears repeating. I saw things in Iraq that stagger a man's faith in anything but survival of the srong and terrible.

I am searching for the truth. If Jesus was but a great man like Gandhi or Muhammad, that would still be more than amazing. What he did and the sacrifices he made to show the wotld a different way. Legends are made that way. God's will is still there. But really, how arrogant are we to think that God showed us His plan? Blind faith and belief is the stuff wars are made of. Trust me on that. I've seen it first hand. 2000 years from now, what will be said of Gandhi or even John Wayne, depending on what they dig up. Who knows, they might even call these damnedable terrorists righteous.

All I'm saying is, we weren't there to know. We aren't allowed access to the original texts and scrolls. How long has the Vatican written religious law and doctrine to fit their needs at the time? It's just things to think about with that brain and hunger for knowledge that God created us with.

You keep pushing this matter about blind faith as though there isn't anything available for the individual to apply knowledge and science to support belief, such is not the case, because you appear not to have any evidence to support your vague knowledge of things Biblical does not mean nothing exists.

You open your piece (nicely written I might add and I enjoyed reading it) by saying "This may cause different reactions for different folks. I respect your perspective, please respect mine."
Does this mean you don't want criticism, cause I assure you my friend that the Scriptures are not one mortal king's veiw of history.

Yes, I am and have always been open to constructive criticism. I learn more with everything I do, every day of my life. Feel free. Now please realize, I'm not speaking of the old testament. It is written in other religions and cultures much older than the time of King James. I am refering to the New Testament which is only in our culture and those we took it to. Thank you for allowing this open discussion between us.

"I am refering to the New Testament which is only in our culture and those we took it to.".....I don't understand ,"New Testament which is only in our culture "I mean my friend is that true. I'm not trying to be Mr.Smarty Pants I assure you and I"ve got a lot to learn but I think a secular study of the Scriptures might do you good,as in "Who wrote is this?"..."How long ago?"...."How did New Testaments Documents survive?"..."Did Jesus really walk earth" that right a secular/ scientific study of the New Testament.

I have studied to some extent, but I am by no means a scholar. I will take your advice and study deeper. I have a very indepth religious library here at home. I will update my story in a few days. Thank you for the challenge. The only good human reference tht is near to being a human scholar that I personally know of is mrchristian. Note :he in no way influenced or had knowledge of the writing of this "story"

      Thank you. Perhaps friends?

The original text of the NT dates back to the 1st century, some books written by eye witnesses of Jesus.

King James did not translate the original text for another 1500 or so years.

That is my point. Sorry for the misinformation about the timeline. I would like to have the 'complete ' original text translated word for word. I am not discounting Jesus as being our savior. I'm using the brain and hunger for knowledge that God instilled in me. I saw things in Iraq that stagger a man's faith in anything but survival of the strong and terrible.
I am a man seeking knowledge. If I can learn from you, then teach me.

Check with a christian bookstore. They will most likely have several to refer you to. Also later translated versions are a word for word translation. Folks at thebookstore can also help understand the differences in those bibles as well. Reading the word of God, praying and fellowship with other Christian men will be your best teacher.

Only the love, grace, mercy, and peace of Jesus can change the terrible. Let God use your experience to spread that message to people who need to be set free from terror.
