I Am Christian
Confusing my walk of faith. Probably not a good thing!, January 31, 2011
By Sheryl TocionisThis review is from: Stairways to Heaven (Hardcover)
I have read her first book, 'Angels in my Hair', and really loved it. Since I loved it so much, I was happy to find that she wrote another one. I purchased it right away, and I am more than half way through this second book, and I am becoming confused.
I am a Bible-believing Christian. According to Lorna, in this new book, 'Stairways to Heaven'; she writes about homosexuality, "God tells me that this is a part of what He has created. He already knows which of His children will be lesbian or gay at conception." I love homosexuals, however; in the Bible, God states that this is wrong, hence, I am being told two different things, (which can confuse someone into what to believe). It's her word or the Word of God, cannot be both. She also states that regardless of your religion, basically all ways lead to heaven. Since she is leading me to believing that statement, she is basically saying that Christ came in vain, since all those that don't believe in Him or accept what He has done for us on the Cross for their sins will still enter heaven as well...again, confusing me. Jesus said that He "is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Him". Not 'one of the ways', but that He is 'THE way', which interprets as 'only way'.
Then she talks about 'suicides', she says that those individuals are 'wrapped in a blanket of God's love and taken to Heaven'; so it seems that if you take your own life, it's okay too, because you'll just get rushed to Heaven, (nice thought, but is that true??) again, confusing me.
The conclusion I am coming to from this book is that everything is okay, acceptable regardless of your behavior, and that every single one of us will enter the Kingdom of Heaven in the end. I quote, "We will all meet our loved ones when it is our time to die and leave this human body behind." Again, nice thought, but then throw the Bible out, because The Bible warns of Hell 54 times and the consequences of our actions. Interesting since there are so many that also give accounts of Hell and the reality of that realm as well. And she does acknowledge that Satan and demons do exist too by the way. I am left feeling that my faith is being attacked, and leaving me with confusion since there is so much contradiction on these topics that I mentioned. Contradictions between what she is saying, and what my belief system says.
I wanted to ask her direct, but her website says that she won't personally respond, so what's the point there.
Since she makes the reader believe that everything is okay, regardless of what you practice or believe, I wonder if she's not leading people astray, huge concern. This is just to make the reader aware of what they will be getting into with this book.
From someone that just wants to get it right, know the Truth and live accordingly,
God Bless,
Sheryl
