I Am Christian
How little I know of how genius and mastermind the Lord God is and how He is always working to make a better ending and answer prayers if we are willing to do as He prompts us to do good for others His master plan and happiness can be delivered to all.
When the snow and ice came a few weeks back I slipped over on the pavement and really hurt myself. It made me think about the elderly in our community and how much more damage the ice would have done to them and their more fragile hips / bones. I felt God was calling me to go knock on the doors of the elderly bungalows and check whether they needed any supplies getting from the shops. Most thankfully had some relative but were really happy to see someone being neighbourly and showing care, one disabled lady wanted me to get her prescription and one lady was just overjoyed to get someone calling to say hello as she rarely got visitors and was very lonely.
I went to a house of an elderly muslim fellow who was so welcoming and hospitable and he gave me a drink and we had a good chat. He was overwhelmed and we struck up a friendship and I have been going back twice a week to see him. He confessed to me that He had prayed the day before I went for God to send Him a young woman for friendship as He was terribly lonely and He has not stopped praising God since.
He has been a very wise and interested friend in my spiritual journey and I decided to take Him out today for a trip to local parkland as He rarely gets out and it was such a lovely day. We hired a mobility buggy and we had a brilliant time going around looking at the beautiful Creation of God. God showed us a beautiful flock of birds doing a fantastic dance and they were sparkling in the sun and lots of people stopped to watch. Everyone was smiling and chatting and waved to us. He had a fantastic day.
It was comical at the end because our buggy ran out of battery and started jolting and bumping up this hill. He was slightly apprehensive but we laughed through it and rang the people to come and rescue us. The staff were really apologetic and so helpful and we just laughed it off as part of the adventure of the day and they were really grateful that we were not upset and did not complain. We just made the most of the time sitting and enjoying the sunshine and sights. With a change of attitude and a view to positivity and being open to where God calls us we can help spread more enjoyment, answer prayers, learn from each other and enhance each others lives. There was a massive part of me at first that did not want to go around peoples doors and knock to see if they were ok as I was scared of their response but I only got happy and positive response and by being open to make different friendships and keep an open mind to who they may be I have been blessed by knowing a really grateful and interesting character.
To witness and feel Gods love in our lives we must all be prepared to love thy neighbour a little bit more, have more faith and trust and be a bit spontaneous. It was great to see what I would have considered once a scary old muslim man having a whale of a time like a boy racing around on a buggy in the sun. I am not Muslim but I believe and love God and know that we are all His children regardless of race or religion and we only break down ignorance and distrust and fear by giving tollerance, brotherhoood and friendship a chance. I tell him off when I think He is being a bit cheeky and remind Him to respect my views and He does the same - we agree to disagree on some things.
