It's Good to Be Free

After spending half my life addicted to heavy drugs i have spent the last 3 years completely free of any drugs or alcohol.  I can hardly believe it myself, that seems like a such massive amount of time.  Getting clean has given me the confidence to realise that if i can acheive something as big as that, i can do absolutley anything in the rest of my life.  I feel like i've wasted a lot of time & a lot of life. People sometimes say that it's not good to have regrets, but i regret a lot of things i've done in life.

I was an active drug addict for 40 plus years .I've been clean, sober and in recovery thanks to AA. I try not to regret things(TRY). Everything that I did made me the person that I am today and I like that person! While I do take a glance back every now and then, I must try to move forward...kudos biggrin!

Wow!!! I am your age and about to push through that experience too. You are a huge inspiration to me xx

Congrats, I'v been clean and sober for 4yrs this month. When I frist cleaned up I had a lot of regrets that I didn't clean up sooner, I spend 33yrs hiding behind Drugs and Alcohol not wanting to deal with life. The only way I can deal with those regrets is to help other Addict or Alcoholic, to share my experience. That I can't live in the past I must live in the now. With help from the program and other Addicts and Alcoholic I will become the person I want to be. Thank you for sharing it helps me Ed

Great job. I believe that it is the best gift you can ever give yourself. As for should look at the good side. You are clean and sober NOW. You could have continued down the path that you were on instead you chose to begin a new life. So as you begin this wonderful journey be proud of who you are now!

Great job!! I am so proud of you. Keep it up!! If you need support I am here for you:)
