No Naci En Colombia, Pero Colombia Nacio En Mi!!!

I WAS BORN IN NEW JERSEY, USA. BUT FORTUNATELY MY PARENTS ARE COLOMBIAN, I HAVE THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. I LIVED IN COLOMBIA FOR 7 YEARS SINCE '93 UNTIL '00, THAT YEAR MY LIFE CHANGED, IT WAS GOOD, BUT I ALWAYS MISSED MY "TIERRA". LAST YEAR '09, I DECIDED A RANDOM DAY I WOULD MOVE BACK, PACKED MY BAG AND HERE I AM, IN MY CALI BELLA =) I DON'T REGRET ANYTHING FOR I AM HAPPY AS I CAN BE, I LIVE AGAIN WITH MY MOTHER AND HAVE MY ENTIRE FAMILY SURROUNDING ME, I AM BLESSED...

WHILE LIVING IN USA I CAME ACROSS THIS WEB RADIO STATION http://www.rimix.com/emisorasenvivo/paisa.htm IT BROUGHT ME CLOSER TO THE COUNTRY, IT MADE ME FEEL THE WARMTH OF THE BREEZE AND THE TENDERNESS OF THE NEIGHBORS, AND SO I BECAME VERY GOOD FRIENDS WITH ALEJO RESTREPO AND ALEJO TOBON AND I WROTE THIS POEM FOR THEM, I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AND RELATE TO IT =)

PS: CHECK OUT THE EMISORA ;o)

TIENES VOZ DE CANTOR Y

SONRISA ENCANTADORA,

AGRADABLE MIRADA Y RISA DE ENSUEÑO.

CADA VEZ QUE TE ESCUCHAMOS

ROBAS MIL SONRISAS Y ALEGRAS CORAZONES,

LLEGAS A OIDOS DE MUCHOS EN EL MUNDO

RECORDANDONOS DE DONDE SOMOS,

COMPLACES NUESTROS GUSTOS

Y NOS HACES CANTAR EN UNISONO,

LOGRANDO HACERNOS SENTIR ESE ABRAZO

FAMILIAR Y EL AMOR DE LO AUSENTE.

CON UNA SENCILLA CANCION NOS ENTREGAS

EL CALOR DE NUESTRA TIERRA Y ANHELAMOS

VOLVER A ELLA, PARA SENTIR EL SINCERO

SALUDO DE UN VECINO O QUIZAS EL

FRESCO AROMA DE SUS MONTAÑAS,

POR ESO SIEMPRE TE ESPERAMOS,

PARA REGRESAR A LO QUE UN DIA OLVIDAMOS,

PARA RESPIRAR A LA DISTANCIA EL OLOR

A CAFÉ Y CAÑA, PARA QUE NOS DEVUELVAS

LO TAN ANHELADO, NUESTRA TIERRA COLOMBIANA!!!

I also was born here in USA (NY), & my entire family is from Cartagena, Colombia. When I go for vacations sometimes I cry because I dont want to leave. I love it out there. The environment, the culture, the people are sooo different from here. Even though Im proud to be American, I wish I'd lived in Colombia. Colombia TE AMOOOO.

this story made me sad, specially the poem, I feel like I forgot so much from there and haven't been updated with the new trends they have now, enjoy the fresh food, and how grandma used to make that delicious food ( nobody can't beat her in that) there's so much I've missed =( lucky you

I don't speak spanish but my very good Colombian friend taught me this<br />

"tu sonrisa est el amenecer di mi alma..."<br />
