That should be lower case conservative. I am not a member of any party politically.

Right on, we should have a movement of people who are conservative but won't jump on a party's band wagon because some of their fundamental beliefs are flawed or unreasonable!

Which means what? In my 70 years, I've seen the meaning of "conservative" (at least in the US) shift significantly.

To me, it means that I believe that while government has important functions, it should not enmesh itself into every aspect of our lives. There are of course exceptions, but for the most part government should make sure that the streets are safe, the borders are secure, and the citizenry should not spend four months of their earnings paying taxes every year.

I wish the lowercase word for the alignment was "careful." That would be more accurate.
