I Am 18 And Happy With My Full Dentures

I am 18 and have been concidering dentures for years and years. I have a friend and she has never got teeth because of genetics. We have been friends since early childhood and she got her first set at 7 when she started school. Since then I have been sure I would have dentures as early as possible, but no dentist would pull my teeth.
About a year ago I found a very nice older and retired dentist and I talked with him and got a lot of information. He told me stories about young people having teeth pulled and that he had nothing against pulling mine as far as I was 18 or more.
I have been saving money in many years for this and mom and dad was glad I did save money, but did not know my plans. So about 4 months ago I became 18 and had already made al necessary impressons and measurements. He was very accurate and did many masurements and recommended the teeth compared to my headshape aand colour and ended quite white. So 2 days after my 18th birthday I had all my teeth pulled and got dentures.
The first week was not very comfortable at all as he told me, but all became better day by day. Now I am soo happy for having achieved my goal..
Mom and dad went bananas. They have very nice teeth and could not understand , which I found natural, but I tried to tell them this was what I wanted.
Now 4 months post extraction the gums feel so nice and

Hi I am considering getting dentures myself as well. I am 25 now. You have already gotten all your teeth extracted. will you be willing to talk to me about your experience. Part of me want to get it done and part of me is scare of going through it. I will share with you a little about my dental health hence why I am looking for input on dentures from others. I saw the part where your parents not agreeing with you about getting dentures. I think my parents would think like your parents if I broke the news to them on my plans for my teeth. I will share with you a little about my dental health.

From as early as the age of 8 I have gone through so many dental procedures. My mouth is filled with teeth that had gone through cavity fillings and root canal treatments. To top things off, I have a rare form of gum disease which bacterial infections cause my teeth to get embedded with plaque and tartar. Right now I don't have an infection because I had been good going through strenous preventive treatments regiment to avoid another gum infection which I had before. That was not very fun. The dentist had to debride my entire mouth and a week later when the swelling from the infection had receded the dentist had to scale and plane each teeth in my mouth. It was a rigorous scraping of each teeth to remove the tartar and plaque build up all the way down to the root. After all the refuge were removed, my gum was left with excessive tissue pockets that had to be remove and restitch to tighten up my gum lines so my teeth would not fall off due to the lack of elasticity. After that ordeal I had been getting deep tissue cleaning treatments four times a year since to prevent the above problem from happening again. I am so tired of the treatments because my gum are prone to getting an infection if I slack. The cleaning process I have to go through is not fun at all too. I figure if I got my entire mouth of teeth extracted then I would not have to worry about my current dental problems.

Hi. First I will say that every woman and man has a different mouth and can experience differently with regards to dentures.
Having said that my dentist said that with gumdesease in young age its so much better to have teeth pulled and get dentures than suffering with pain and swelling and all following the infections.
I had healthy teeth so I did not exoerience health bettering, but all i have talked with who had gum desease told me that they felt much better after being without teeth.
Having a denture fetish I have discovered that there are many! having that. I got the impression you were very motivated and that is the key to success. Just do not think that dentures are as normal teeth. They will move very slightly when eating, but that is normal and nobody will see and dentures will not fall out.
If I take my own experience I would have had all teeth pulled and getting dentures.< and there are also advantages as easy to having a clean mouth. Not to speak of our intimate life.
I love having dentures and also the toothless feeling
Wish you good luck and please keep me updated
Monica

Hi if you are interested in talking please let me know. I have a fetish for dentures and would love to talk to someone thats my age :)

I wish I had dentures just like you, where do you live?I have $ and can travel anyplace to get dentures.

wow, amazing. here i am a young guy (25) and due to various reasons i need a full upper and lower partial. this page just gave me an entirely new, positive outlook on my situation. thank you so much :D

As I sit reading this post sans teeth, I really wonder why anyone would oppose being edentulous. I find the lack of pain from poor teeth, coupled with the astetic beauty of a perfect smile far outweigh natural teeth anytime. Further, if you look at the pleasure of enjoying some foods & drink without the cumbersome natural teeth, it keeps getting better.
Basically ridding one of natural teeth as quickly in life as possible is a true attribute!

I wish I could find a Dentist who would extract &denture me,I want to wear dentures.

Do you still feel the same way two years later? There are so many warnings against having teeth out... loss of bone; loss of face, etc.

This is quite interesting, indeed.... Why would we look forward to a situation that makes us relate with the old age. We don't ask for old skin, artificial bladder, or saggy breast. Though... There might be some dudes out there longing for that! Anyway... That fetish about teeth, empty and edentulous mouth, lips falling in, cheeks sagging in, pink plastic gums (it makes me horny!!), having removable teeth like we all do, it is considered by all of us as extremely desirable, isn't it? I guess that it has to do with the symbolic of that opening in the middle of our face. An opening that is used for (almost) everything: eating and praying, but also snoring, burping and cursing. For kissing, sucking, licking, biting, speaking, singing, shouting, sobbing, chanting, humming. For yawning as well... And manny other.
Yes, for ********, for breathing and gagging, for smoking (not for me, except pot on rare occasions, for drinking, noshing and nibbling... And we like to turn it into something... mostly artificial, utterly decorative. (I went embarassed when I first had my dentures, though -almost- no one would ask question about them. Now, I don't care about it, I don't hide them, especially in my mouth, without being a show off...
Actually, I think they aren't cute in a boy's mouth, when they are extremely cute, sexy in a girl's mouth. What is your opinion? And can you explain more about what we all consider (?) as a fetishism... Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for sharing your story. Like you, I also wanted dentures at 18. Unfortunately I did not have all my teeth pulled in one go, but rather in stages over a 10 year period as I wasn't able to find a dentist willing to meet my desire to have full dentures at that age. Eventually I got my wish and at 28 became a full denture wearer when my bottom teeth were finally removed. I waited for 3 months before having a complete set of false teeth fitted and went completely toothless even though I already had a top denture which I could have worn in the time my bottom gums were healing. My parents went ballistic as they could not understand my desire to be toothless, let alone wearing dentures. I loved being toothless and had no problem being seen in public without teeth. Eating on my bare gums gave me immeasurable pleasure. Smiling and laughing with a breath of wind brushing against them was such a joy. When I eventually received my dentures the fit was near perfect. There is not a day that goes by that I regret having had all my teeth removed for dentures. The benefits to me has far outweighed any negatives.

Claire here.
I too am relativley young with Dentures. but like others here I love having them. I can eat anything with them & they look so very natural. NOT Hollywood White picket Fence type. The best thing I ever did was getting Full Dentures. I have no regrets at all.
Claire.

That is really encouraging. Did you spend a lot of money on dentures; getting the fit and quality you desired?
