Why Are We All So Afraid to Try to Touch?

Not a consoling hug, an ignorant feel in public, or a "stab-you-in-the-back" business handshake, but a friendly touch, a soft embrace, a quiet kiss - not in lust or deciet, but because we are all tactile beings.  Even those with partners and friends, sometimes long just for contact.  Others pine for it - mostly in vain.

We have been programmed for "bad touch" for decades,  and as I see it among consenting adults, ther should be no bad touches, only good ones.
