Not Really Curious....

I understand why it happened but I don't agree with it and I don't think it's right to do now. At least not here in America. I understand it might be a way of life some where else but Americans have left that behind and that's where it should stay.

I live in Utah. What do you think is the first thing people ask me when I tell them I'm from Utah? Well there are two main questions really first and formost is Are you Mormon? Then it's Are you a or do you know any poligamist? So I'm always explaining things to people lol.

So no...there's really no curiosity for me on this topic

FLDS are not the only plygs... some hate that term... plyg... doesn't bother me... I was called a plyg kid and I considered it a compliment. I agree that women should not be subjected or considered second class, but I don't thimk you have to be a plyg to have that mindset. Enough of that...<br />
<br />
But you are right people are extremely curious. A third wife was working in a Bakery when the paper came out with some story about polygamy (this was many years ago). Some guy came in and was talking saying, "I'd sure like to meet one of those polygamist. The third wife said, "Ahhhh, you wouldn't know one if you saw one."<br />
One place plygs get a bad rap is when it comes to work. They will do work cheaper and faster and so they are blasted for functioning in a good old American way. Instead of being praised for their ability to do more cheaper they still get the shaft.

I wouldn't use the FLDS as a textbook on how to live a polygynous lifestyle. <br />
I don't dislike them but I do dislike the things that I hear of them. <br />
So... you may not be curious but if you're in Utah chances are all you know about poly is FLDS type poly... women in utter subjection and degredation to their men and the men around them.<br />
<br />
That's not YHWH's idea of polygyny.

THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE?<br />
YOU HAVE SAID NOTHING WHY POLYGAMY SHOULD "STAY" IN THE CLOSET. Also, you can hardly say in the closet when there are 50,000 plus living poly.<br />
The pioneers lived poly. were they perverts? or honorable people? There were great men and women that were born into poly families. So it seems to work pretty good.
